Iconic outdoor brand launches sock collection

NEW YORK, March 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Weatherproof®, and United Legwear Company, LLC, announced today a new licensing agreement to produce legwear and accessories in the United States.

The legwear line, set to roll out for Fall/Holiday 2013, will be an extensive, premium legwear line for men, women, and children that includes many silhouettes and fabrications, from wool blend crews to performance/lifestyle socks. Weatherproof® legwear will be sold in better department stores such as Macy's, Dillard's, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Belk, Von Maur, and more.

Additional licensed marks for the legwear line include Weatherproof®, Weatherproof Vintage and 32 Degrees Weatherproof.

"Legwear is a natural extension of Weatherproof's existing product lines," said Eliot Peyser, Chief Executive Officer of Weatherproof®.  Given United Legwear's excellent reputation for top quality products and their power of distribution, partnering with ULC was an easy decision," Peyser added. "We expect a great response at retail."

Isaac E. Ash, President and CEO of United Legwear Co., explained the appeal of the Weatherproof® brand to his product portfolio: "Weatherproof® is an iconic brand that fits a profile we've been looking for: a strong brand that allows us to incorporate many technical properties and performance elements available now," he said.  "Plus, there's a void in the market for high-quality, everyday socks that provide comfort, wick away moisture and offer temperature control. Our Weatherproof® products will bring the kind of legwear that's normally found in high-end specialty stores to a wider distribution," Ash added.
