Cambridge Man Accused of Assaulting Officers in Jail

CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP/WBOC)- A Cambridge man awaiting sentencing on a murder conviction is facing new charges that he assaulted jail guards.

Brandon Jamar Sampson is charged in two attacks on correctional officers at the Dorchester County Detention Center.

Dorchester Sheriff James W. Phillips Jr. said Sampson is accused of throwing a cup of urine at a group of correctional officers last month. He was also charged a month earlier with spitting in the face of a detention center employee.

Sampson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in November in a fatal shooting that occurred in June in Cambridge. He is scheduled for sentencing on April 14.
