MINNEAPOLIS– The Salisbury University baseball team moved to No. 6 in the latest D3baseball.com top 25, the website announced Tuesday.
Salisbury (8-2) swept Gallaudet University, 11-4 and 14-0 in a doubleheader on Sunday, earning 473 points in the fourth poll of the season. The Sea Gulls finished ahead of Trinity University (Texas) with 439 points. Kean University (425), St. Joseph's College of Maine (408) and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater rounded out the top 10.
The State University of New York at Cortland took over the No. 1 spot, up from No. 4, with 10 first-place votes and 602 points. Marietta College is up to No. 2 with five first-place votes and 566 points, while Wheaton College (Mass.) fell to No. 3 with 564 and five first-place votes.
Christopher Newport University rose to No. 4 with four first-place votes and 512 points, and the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) came in fifth with the remaining first-place vote and 501 points.
Salisbury hosts CNU on Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the SU Baseball Field.
