Wayne H. Thompson Jr.
SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Lincoln man wanted on 48 counts of second-degree rape and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Forty-seven-year-old Wayne H. Thompson Jr. turned himself in at Troop 4 in Georgetown on Friday afternoon. After being booked on the aforementioned charges, he was ordered held in Sussex Correctional Institution on $98,000 secured bond.
Police said Thompson's arrest stemmed from an investigation that got under way Thursday, when a 16-year-old girl disclosed to Troop 4 detectives that Thompson had raped her over a four-year period, starting in January 2009.
According to police, the alleged rapes occurred while the girl was living at a home in Mobile Gardens near Seaford.
