Troopers Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Kent County

Posted:

DOVER , Del. – Delaware State Police say a woman was killed and a man injured after a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening, in Dover.

Troopers say  a car pulled into the path of a motorcycle operated by 49-year-old Lawrence Kibler Jr., and his wife, 48-year-old Judy Kibler of Magnolia.  They were reportedly traveling south on South State Street.  The motorcycle reportedly struck the front left corner of the vehicle and the Kiblers were thrown from the motorcycle and into the street.

Judy Kibler was taken to Kent General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Lawrence Kibler Jr. was taken to Kent General Hospital and later flown to Christiana Medical Center.  He is listed in serious condition.  Police say neither person was wearing a helmet.

Police closed South State Street between Highview Avenue and Webbs Lane for  two hours as they investigated and cleared the scene.  Charges are pending.
