DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a head-on collision west of Dover.

Troopers say moments before Tuesday afternoon's crash on Forest Avenue (SR8), someone called 911 to say the driver of a Kia Spectra was driving in a reckless manner.

Police said the crash happened at 4:08 p.m. when the driver of the Spectra, 24-year-old Joseph M. Iplenski of Hartly, entered the westbound lane of Forest Avenue and struck a Ford Focus head-on. The Focus caught fire after the crash and the car's driver, 27-year-old Brandon L. Boyer of Marydel, was helped out of his car by a witness to the crash.

Both drivers were taken to Kent General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
