Skull Found in Fishing Net Missing Va. Man

Posted:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- The Delaware Medical Examiner's office says a skull found in a scallop net in 2003 has been identified as that of a missing Virginia man who fell overboard the year before.

The Medical Examiner's Office says the skull has been identified as that of 45-year-old Sabino Acosta Hernandez. Deputy Director Hal Brown says his office is preparing to return the skull to family members and he has spoken with the man's son in Florida. However, Brown said Hernandez's son has not returned recent emails or telephone calls.

State officials say Hernandez was a crew member on the Lady Helen, a fishing boat based in Hampton, Va. Hernandez was finally identified in January when DNA extracted from a tooth matched DNA in an FBI database.

New Waterfront Hotel Breaks Ground in O.C., Part 2

The location of a new waterfront hotel that recently broke ground in Ocean City is raising some eyebrows with neighbors in the downtown area.

The Cambria Hotel is being built in the vacant lot that sits just north of the Route 50 drawbridge, meaning it will be one of the first things drivers see headed into town.

Brian Plimack, who lives just behind the development, said the hotel is too much of a drastic change to the town's skyline.
