Somerset County Fire Ruled Arson


EDEN, Md.- Authorities have ruled as arson a late Monday night fire that damaged a vacant home in Somerset County.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's office said the blaze occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at a two story home located at 31808 Flower Hill Church Road in Eden.

It took 20 firefighters from the Fruitland and Allen fire companies approximately 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $2,000 to the structure.

Investigators determined the fire started on the front porch.
