SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team slipped to No. 4 in both the American Baseball Coaches Association poll and the D3baseball.com poll, announced on Tuesday.
Salisbury (15-4, 4-2 CAC) went 2-2 last week with wins over the Apprentice School and St. Mary's (Md.) College to earn 388 points in the ABCA voting, behind New No. 1 Linfield College (433 points), Trinity University (Texas) (418) and the State University of New York at Cortland (413). The three also picked up five, nine and one first-place vote, respectively.
SU claimed 526 points and two first-place votes in the D3baseball.com poll.
Linfield took the top spot, jumping from No. 6, garnering 575 points and nine first-place votes. SUNY Cortland is second with 533 and five first-place votes while Trinity with 552 and seven first-place votes is third. Marietta College (one first-place vote, 485 points) rounds out the top five.
Salisbury hosts Frostburg State University in a three-game series starting Friday at 2 p.m.
