Ravens to Bring Lombardi Trophy to Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lombardi Trophy is coming to Annapolis, even if just for a visit with some Baltimore Ravens.

They are scheduled to bring the Super Bowl trophy to the Legislature on Thursday. The Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in last month's Super Bowl.

The presiding officers of the House of Delegates and the Senate announced the planned visit after session on Wednesday.

Who exactly will be coming was a tight-lipped secret in the Maryland State House on Wednesday. Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller told reporters the visiting group would include "a prominent Raven or two."

Gov. Martin O'Malley, who was mayor of Baltimore before becoming governor, cheered the Ravens on during their playoff run by coloring the capitol dome and the governor's residence with purple light.
