Delaware Women’s Golfers in 13th Place Following First Day of Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. -- The University of Delaware women's golf team carded
team scores of 312 and 315 as the Blue Hens sit in 13th place out of 19
squads on Monday following the first day of the Pinehurst Challenge.

Richmond leads the field with a two-round score of 594, while tournament
host College of Charleston is in second place three shots back. Old
Dominion sits in third place at 602, while Rollins and Penn State are
tied for fourth at 603.

Blue Hen freshman Vimonthip Benjasupawan opened her day with a
season-low round of 74 on the par 72, 5,993-yard Pinehurst No. 6 course,
and followed with a 79 as she sits in a tie for 30th place in the
individual standings with a nine over par 74-79-153. Sophomore Amanda
Terzian carded a 12 over par 76-80-156 on Monday, finishing the day tied
for 45th place.

Sophomore Baralee Theinthong opened with an 82 before responding by
tying her career low with a 75, ending the day tied for 51st place with
a 13 over par score of 82-75-157. Freshman Nathalie Filler carded a 21
over par 80-85-165 to end the day tied for 83rd place, while sophomore
Annie Bowlsby is tied for 85th place after firing a 22 over par 85-81-166.

Carolina Lovette of Richmond and Vanessa Koechili of the College of
Charleston are tied for the individual lead as both players ended the
day at three over par.

The Pinehurst Challenge concludes Tuesday with the third and final round.
