HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Nina Cornog matched a career-high with five goals to lead the Wesley College women's lacrosse team to a 15-9 victory at Centenary (N.J.) on Saturday afternoon.  The Wolverines improve to 5-7 on the year while the Cyclones fall to 3-6.

Cornog also had a great day on the defensive side of the ball, leading the squad with five ground balls and tying with Mia Brocco (3g, 2a) for team-high five caused turnovers.  Jen Jacobs also tallied five points on the day with four goals and an assist while Rylee Gould also scored twice.

The Cyclones actually scored the first goal at 27:46 but Jacobs scored three-straight goals with one assist coming from Cornog, giving Wesley a 3-1 lead with 20:36 left in the half.  Centenary cut the lead in half nearly three minutes later but Wesley closed out the half on a 4-0 run with four different players scoring goals.

Brocco and Jacobs scored to open the second half and Wesley eventually opened up a 15-6 lead on Cornog's fifth goal of the game with 8:46 remaining.

Alyssa Batty made 13 saves for the Wolverines.

Wesley hosts Salisbury on April 9 at 4 pm.
