Delaware Women’s Basketball’s Elena Delle Donne Tabbed as WBCA All-American

NEW ORLEANS – Already the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the
Year, Capital One Academic All-American of the Year, Senior CLASS Award
winner, Wooden Award All-American and Associated Press first team
All-American, University of Delaware Elena Delle Donne added another
title to her 2013 resume as she was named Saturday to the Women's
Basketball Coaches Association Division I Coaches' All-American Team on
the Women's Final Four® Court in the New Orleans Arena.

Delle Donne was one of 10 honored from a total of 52 candidates. She
finished her senior campaign averaging 26.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.3
blocks and 1.9 assists in 30 games for Delaware.

The Wilmington, Del. native most recently wrapped up her distinguished
collegiate career as she led the No. 15 Blue Hens to a Sweet 16
appearance for the first time in Delaware history. Additionally, Delle
Donne finished fifth all-time in NCAA women's basketball history with
3,039 career points.

The forward is one of the most illustrious student-athletes in
University of Delaware history.  The three-time CAA Player of the Year
is tops in 10 different statistical categories, including scoring, in
the UD women's basketball record books in addition to taking reign over
five areas of CAA history.

During her four years with the Blue Hens, UD amassed 104 victories, two
CAA Championships and back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament,
which included a school-record three wins.

Founded in 1981, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association promotes
women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a
reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the
development of the game as a sport for women and girls.
