Del. Hosting Annual Waterfowl Stamp Contest

Posted:

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Calling all artists: an annual waterfowl stamp contest is taking place in Delaware this week.

The Delaware Agriculture Museum and Village in Dover is hosting on Thursday the annual waterfowl and trout stamp competitions.

It's the 34th anniversary of the art contest, which was created to raise money for wildlife conservation. The museum will display the entries through Monday, April 29.

Entries in the waterfowl stamp contest must prominently feature at least 1 of Delaware's native species.

The winning entry will be reproduced on a stamp that must be signed and carried by all duck and goose hunters in the state.

Trout stamp context entries, which include paintings of rainbow, brown and brook trout, will be reproduced on a stamp that trout anglers must display while fishing.
