HARRINGTON, Del.- Harrington police say a traffic stop led to a 50-year-old Dover man being arrested for his third offense DUI.

On Friday, a Felton police officer was responding to Harrington to assist a Harrington officer with a complaint when a vehicle was observed committing several alleged traffic violations on Route 13 in the area of Delaware Avenue. The Felton officer contacted the Harrington officer via radio and the Felton officer conducted a traffic stop.

Police said the Harrington officer arrived and took over the investigation. Authorities said that when the officers contacted David L. Giddens, who was operating the vehicle, they smelled alcohol. After the officers gave standard field sobriety tests to Giddens, they took him into custody and transported him to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

Police said a computer check revealed that Giddens has previous DUI convictions in 2009 and 2010. He was charged with third offense DUI and ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $3,000 secured bond.

New Waterfront Hotel Breaks Ground in O.C., Part 2

The location of a new waterfront hotel that recently broke ground in Ocean City is raising some eyebrows with neighbors in the downtown area.

The Cambria Hotel is being built in the vacant lot that sits just north of the Route 50 drawbridge, meaning it will be one of the first things drivers see headed into town.

Brian Plimack, who lives just behind the development, said the hotel is too much of a drastic change to the town's skyline.
