FINNS POINT, Del.- Authorities have identified a body that washed ashore along the Delaware River in New Castle County earlier this week.

Delaware State Police said the body has been identified as that of a 49-year-old man from Franklinville, N.J.

At around 9 p.m. Tuesday, a person walking along Finns Point, an area along the eastern shore of the river, discovered the body.

An investigation conducted by the Delaware River and Bay Authority Police Department determined that the man had jumped from the Delaware Memorial Bridge on Jan. 20.
