GEORGETOWN, Del.- The Sussex County Council has a plan to improve affordability by amending its housing program.  The income qualifications would be lowered.  The threshold would drop from $47,000 to $29,750.  In doing so, more people would be helped.

Areli Garrieo is a Georgetown resident who used to live in a trailer park.  She has taken advantage of another low-income housing program.  "Just being in a safe home, a bigger home, more space.  The girls have their own room.  Over there it was kind of crowded.  It wasn't safe for me to let them go out."

The county is also considering incentives to entice developers to participate in more low-income housing initiatives.  the council will vote on the plan on April 23rd in Sussex County.
