Driver Crashes into Rehoboth Beach Taco Bell

Posted: Updated:
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Police say a driver crashed his SUV into a Rehoboth Beach Taco Bell and then tried to run away from the scene.

Police said it happened around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 19000 block of Coastal Highway.

According to investigators, 60-year old Gregory Pflug of Rehoboth Beach drove his Honda Pilot through the drive-thru. When he left, police say he began to speed up as he drove around the building. Police said Pflug then drove over a flower bed, through an outdoor seating area, and into the northeast corner of the building. Pflug then allegedly got out of his vehicle and ran away, but was followed by witnesses and quickly arrested by troopers responding to the crash.

No one was injured in the crash.

Pflug was issued a traffic summons for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failing to have insurance identification in possession, speed exhibition, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and failing to provide information at the scene of a property damage crash.

Taco Bell will remain closed until repairs are made.
