2 Arrested for Drug Dealing in Woodside

WOODSIDE, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy are facing charges after they were caught dealing drugs from a car.

The arrests occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Monday in Woodside. Police said they conducted surveillance on an Oldsmobile sedan when they witnessed its occupants engaging in drug transactions.

Troopers stopped the car as it drove on Barney Jenkins Road. Police said one passenger, 19-year-old Taquen Owens of Greenwood, provided troopers with a false name. Authorities said a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a small bottle belonging to Owens. Inside of the bottle was approximately 4.5 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale, investigators said.
 
Police said that additionally, a search of a 17-year-old male passenger, who is from Milford, revealed that he was carrying a prescription bottle with eight assorted prescription narcotic pills.
 
The driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic summons and released. Owens was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal impersonation, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and ordered held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $21,500 secured bail. The 17-year-old was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released on $20,500 unsecured bail.
