GRAND LAKE, Colo.– The latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its top 20 poll on Tuesday, setting up another top-10 matchup for the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team.
The Sea Gulls remain at No. 2 this week, with Salisbury's next opponent, York (Pa.) College, moving up one spot, to No. 10. This will be the fifth time the Sea Gulls will face a team ranked in the top 10 at the time of the meeting.
Salisbury held two first-place votes and garnered 380 points this week following an 11-5 win over then-No. 8 The College of New Jersey.
The top five teams remain intact from last week. After narrowly escaping No. 3 Middlebury College last week, 10-9, Trinity (Conn.) College remains No. 1, picking up two additional first-place votes from last week, giving them 18 overall. The Bantams were awarded 398 points in this week's rankings.
After nearly pulling off the upset of Trinity, Middlebury remains at No. 3 with 359 points. Sitting behind them is The State University of New York at Cortland, which was awarded 338 points. Rounding out the top five again this week, at No. 5, is Gettysburg College, with 322 points.
The Capital Athletic Conference is again represented by two member institutions. Those two teams, Salisbury and York, will square off this Wednesday, April 17, with the winner having the inside track toward the regular season CAC crown. That game will be played at Sea Gull Stadium and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
