MILFORD, Del.- Police have arrested a Milford man accused of raping and stabbing another man early Friday morning.

Milford police said that at around 2:24 a.m. Friday, officers found the naked 24-year-old victim along the side of the road, near the area of South DuPont Highway and Johnson Road. The victim had injuries to his head and face and was transported to Milford Bayhealth Hospital by medical personnel. Police said it was also discovered that the victim had sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, face and abdominal areas. The victim was admitted for life-threatening injuries but police said he was last listed in stable condition.

Detectives said they discovered that the victim was at a convenience store on North DuPont Highway an hour earlier attempting to get a ride back to the Camden area. Police said that is when the victim made contact with 32-year-old Anthony C. Woods, who offered the victim a ride in his vehicle.

Police said that shortly after leaving the store, Woods pulled the vehicle over and displayed a knife. He then allegedly ordered the victim to perform a sexual act, according to investigators. Authorities said Woods then physically prevented the victim from getting out of the vehicle and began to punch the victim in the face after he refused to perform the sexual act. Police said Woods continued to assault the victim until the victim performed the sexual acts with him. According to investigators, Woods then stabbed the victim twice in the abdomen and once in the face. Woods then left the victim on the side of the road where he was later found by officers, police said.

On Sunday, April 14, detectives and officers took Woods into custody at a home in the Brightway Commons Apartment Complex. He was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree robbery armed with a deadly instrument, first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. He was ordered held in default of $166,000 cash bond.
