Man Arrested in Mexico in 2006 Del. Homicide

Posted:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- Delaware State Police say a man sought on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in a 2006 homicide has been arrested in Mexico.

Troopers say agents from the Policia Federal Ministerial arrested 34-year-old Miguel H. Aramiz last week in Tenancingo, Mexico. Authorities say a provisional arrest warrant seeks Aramiz' extradition to the U.S.

Police say Aramiz is wanted in the beating death of 22-year-old Jose Andres-Estrada of Newark. Troopers say Andres-Estrada was beaten by several men while he was at a carnival in Wilmington on March 19, 2006. Authorities say one assailant struck Andres-Estrada several times in the head with a baseball bat. The victim died a day later.
