Mardela Springs Fire Severely Damages Home


MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.- Authorities are investigating an early Thursday fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a Mardela Springs home.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the one-alarm blaze occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday at the home located at 24287 Main Street. It took five firefighters from the Mardela Springs fire departments 20 minutes to get the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage to the home.

The preliminary cause of the fire and where the fire was started in the home is still under investigation.

The owner of the home is Keith Coulbourne, according to fire officials.
