N.C. -- Blue Hen freshman Braden Shattuck is tied for seventh place in
the individual standings while the University of Delaware men's golf
team sits in sixth place
on Saturday following the second day of the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
The Blue Hens recorded a 311 team score during Saturday's second round, and are sixth out of seven teams with a two-round total of 620. UNCW carded a 283 score on Saturday and leads the field at 588, while James Madison sits in second place at 603.
Shattuck carded a three over par 75 during his second round on the par 72, 7,069-yard Reserve Club course at St. James Plantation, finishing the day tied for seventh place with a five over par 74-75-149. Shattuck was two over par through eight holes on Saturday before posting a birdie on nine, ending his front nine at one over. He then posted seven pars during a two over par back nine.
Senior Ben Conroy fired an eight over par 80 in his second round, as he ended the day tied for 16th place at 76-80-156, 12 over par. Conroy posted 10 pars during Saturday's round, finishing the front nine at five over and the back nine at three over.
Junior Dan Costenbader recorded a six over par 78 on Saturday, finishing the day tied for 20th place with a 14 over par 80-78-158. Costenbader birdied the fifth hole and added seven pars during his even par front nine, and had six additional pars on the back nine.
Freshman Kyle Martin also fired a 78 during his second round, improving by eight shots from Friday, and sits in 30th place with a 20 over par score of 86-78-164. Martin birdied the third hole during his two over par front nine, before adding six pars on a four over back nine.
Sophomore Niño Rosal carded a 14 over par 86 on Saturday and will enter Sunday's final round in 31st place at 79-86-165, 21 over par. Rosal birdied three and then posted six consecutive pars during his one over front nine, before shooting a 13 over par back nine.
UNCW's Payne McLeod recorded a five under par 67 during his second round and holds a four-shot lead with a four under par 73-67-140.
The third and final round of the tournament will take place Sunday, with action beginning at 8 a.m.
