SALISBURY, Md. – For the third straight week, the Salisbury University baseball team is ranked fourth in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) top 30 poll, but fell to No. 7 in the D3baseball.com top 25 poll, announced on Tuesday.
Salisbury (30-7) went 3-1 last week with wins over Washington (Md.) College, the College of Staten Island and Stevenson University.
The Sea Gulls earned 407 points in the ABCA poll, just one point behind Trinity (Texas) University for third. Linfield College remained the unanimous No. 1 pick with all 16 first-place votes and 480 points. SU beat out Kean University (401 points), Johns Hopkins University (395), the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (386), California Lutheran University (383), the State University of New York at Cortland (364) and Marietta College (343) in the top 10.
Salisbury received 478 points in the D3baseball.com poll, finishing ahead of Trinity (452), Marietta (451) and Webster University (366) in the top 10.
In the D3baseball.com poll, Linfield took the top spot again with 22 first-place votes and 622 points overall. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) is second with two first-place votes and 578 points. Hopkins took the final first-place vote and 492 points for the No. 6 spot.
Salisbury travels to Montclair State University on May 8 at 3 p.m.
