Crisfield Police Will Move Back to Old Building

Posted: Updated:

CRISFIELD, Md.- The Crisfield Police Department will have to leave its temporary location. Mayor Percy Purnell made the choice because to buy the building at the current location would cost more than $300,000.

The police are currently stationed at a former bank on Route 413. Purnell said it was all about cost.

"The city just can't afford this facility," he said. "The owner of the facility was kind enough to allow us to use it for a couple of months you know and the utilities here are a lot higher. You can delay it by saying we'll give it to you for another six months but eventually [with the] budget and so forth the city can only afford so much."
