Magnolia Trio Arrested on Heroin Charges

MAGNOLIA, Del.- Delaware State Police say a month-long drug investigation near Magnolia has led to the arrests of two brothers and the wife of one of them on heroin and related charges.

Police said that on Thursday morning, the Kent County Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Kent County Governor's Task Force and the DSP Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home located on the 100 block of Carnation Drive in Magnolia.

., 34; Daren M. Martin, 39; and Vanessa M. Martin, 36; all of Magnolia, were taken into custody at the home. Police said that during the execution of the search warrant, detectives located 260 bags of heroin totaling approximately 6.5 grams, a large bag of fireworks, drug paraphernalia and more than $2,800 in suspected drug proceeds.  John Martin was also found to have four Percocet pills that were not prescribed to him, investigators said.
 
All three suspects were charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession with intent to delivery heroin, second-degree conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of fireworks. John Martin was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (Percocet).

John and Daren Martin were jailed on $123,300 and $122,300 cash bonds respectively.  Daren's wife Vanessa was released on $42,300 unsecured bond.
