LAUREL,  Del. - Delaware State Troopers arrest a Millsboro man after they say he lead authorities on a chase.

Troopers say the incident began when members of the Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit and Governor's Task Force tried to stop
50-year old Bryan Parsons around 10 a.m. Friday along Hitch Pond Road in Laurel.

Authorities say Parsons refused to stop and began throwing bags of heroin out of his window.

Troopers say Parsons drove into the River Vista development, off of Concord Road, where he abandoned his vehicle and ran.

He was eventually caught. A search of his vehicle revealed 13  bags of heroin.

Troopers also searched Parsons' home, recovering an additional bag of heroin. A juvenile located at the residence was turned over to the Division of Family Services.

Parsons was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, resisting arrest with force or violence, tampering with physical evidence, disregarding a police officer's signal, endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and passing on the right. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $35,550 cash bail.
