GREENSBORO, N.C.– Duke freshman midfielder Myles Jones and Maryland senior long stick midfielder Jesse Bernhardt have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Jones registered a career-high five points on three goals and two assists as Duke cruised to a 19-3 win over Marquette in the regular season finale. The hat trick was the first of his career, while the two assists tied his career high. A native of Huntington, N.Y., Jones has 14 goals and five assists for 19 points this season to rank second among Duke rookies.
Bernhardt, playing in his final regular season home game, registered five groundballs and three caused turnovers in an 18-6 victory over Colgate. A native of Longwood, Fla., Bernhardt and the Terrapin defense limited reigning Tewaaraton Award winner Peter Baum to one goal on just four shots.
