SALISBURY, Md.– The Salisbury University baseball team remained No. 4 in the American Baseball Coaches Association top 30 poll for the fourth-consecutive week and climbed to No. 5 in the D3baseball.com top 25 poll, announced on Tuesday.
Salisbury (30-7), which did not play last week, earned 423 points in the ABCA poll to finish ahead of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (417 points), California Lutheran University (394), the State University of New York at Cortland (394), Ithaca College (344), the University of Southern Maine (337) and Marietta College (316) in the top 10.
Linfield College remained the unanimous No. 1 with 480 points and 16 first-place votes, followed by the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) with 463 points and Trinity (Texas) University with 426.
The Sea Gulls claimed 503 points in the D3baseball.com poll and were the only team in the top five to not garner a first-place vote. Linfield (19 first-place votes and 618 points) split first-place votes with No. 2 St. Thomas (two), No. 3 Whitewater (two), No. 4 Cortland (one) and No. 12 Manchester University (one).
Trinity (456), California Lutheran (437), Marietta (387), Kean University (373) and Ithaca (365) rounded the top 10.
Salisbury closes the regular season on Wednesday at Montclair State University at 3 p.m. SU will find out where it is headed for the NCAA tournament on Sunday.
