LOUISVILLE, Ky. – As the Salisbury University softball team travels to Roanoke College in preparation for the NCAA Regional in Salem, Va., the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the final regular-season NFCA Division III Top 25 poll. The Sea Gulls were unanimously placed at the top of the poll for the second consecutive week.
Salisbury stayed in the top spot with 200 points and all eight first-place votes.
The top-five teams in the nation saw no change as Trine University, Montclair State University, Emory University and the University of Texas at Tyler held steady in the second through fifth slots, respectively.
Of the top-25 teams, four will be participating in the Salem Regional. Salisbury is joined by No. 4 Emory University, No. 14 Christopher Newport University, and No. 19 Lynchburg College.
Due to field conditions, the start of the Salem Regional has been pushed back two hours on Thursday.
The Sea Gulls enter the Salem Regional as the top seed and will open up the tournament at 12 p.m., on Thursday, April 9 against Penn State University-Altoona, which is seeded eighth.
