GEORGETOWN, Del.- With same-sex marriage set to become legal in Delaware on July 1, workers at the Sussex County Marriage Bureau are busy preparing for the transition. That includes Sussex County Clerk of the Peace John Brady, who has been openly gay for 20 years.

Brady has been performing marriage ceremonies since January when he was sworn in to his position, and in July he'll be legally allowed to tie the knot for same-sex couples.

"I'm going to be happy to perform memorable ceremonies for everybody," said Brady. "Whether it's a traditional marriage or a same-gender marriage, everyone will get good service in this office."

There are several changes Brady's office are in the progress of making, including eliminating the terms "bride" and "groom" from state marriage forms. Additionally, Brady is preparing for a busy day on the first of July.

"At 12:01am [on July 1], if somebody asked me 'hey I want to get married at 12:02 am.
 I'll be available," said Brady.

Civil unions will no longer be performed in Delaware on July 1.
