Dover Man Charged With 6th DUI

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have charged a Dover man with his 6th DUI offense.

Police said a trooper on patrol on South DuPont Highway in Dover early Thursday afternoon observed 32-year-old Takoi A. Morris driving while talking on a cellphone. According to police, Morris was pulled over on South Governors Avenue and the trooper smelled alcohol.

Troopers said a computer check revealed that Morris had been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol five times, with his earliest DUI arrest dating back to 2000. He was arrested and charged with 6th offense driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance and driving while using an electronic communication device. He was ordered held in default of $11,000 secured bail.
