Md. Officer Pleads Guilty to Misconduct

Posted:

TOWSON, Md. (AP) - Baltimore County police say an officer accused of engaging in sexual activity while on duty has pleaded guilty to misconduct in office.

Officer Aaron Pross of Newark, Del., entered the plea Monday and resigned immediately from the police department. As part of a plea deal, no additional charges were brought.

Police say criminal and internal investigations found that 29-year-old Pross was on duty during consensual interactions with a woman he met online. They say he failed to respond to dispatch calls during the recorded encounters. When the allegations surfaced in January, his police powers were immediately suspended and he was assigned to an administrative position.

Prosecutors say Pross will be sentenced on July 17.
