GEORGETOWN, Del.- A new restaurant is nearing its grand opening at the Sussex County Airport.

Arena's Deli & Bar signed a five-year deal with Sussex County to lease the restaurant space. Officials from Sussex County say they're hoping Arena's will take off.

"The county wants somebody they can be proud of," said part owner Matthew Evans. "And of course we want a restaurant that we can say 'hey go here' and have a fruitful relationship."

The old airport restaurant -- Lighthouse Landing -- was forced to close due to lack of business. However, Evan's doesn't believe that will be the case with Arena's.

"They've had owners in the past that haven't cared," said Evans. "They really want something to be proud of and with Arena's, they know they are getting an operator of a restaurant that cares about it."

The grand opening for Arena's at the Sussex County Airport in Georgetown will be Saturday May 18.
