MILFORD, Del.- Milford police have arrested a man who they say was involved with a shooting and fight at a bar earlier in May.

Teonce S. Trader, 22, of Pocomoke City, Md., was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, first-degree reckless endangering, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree conspiracy.

Police said Trader's arrest stemmed from a shooting that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, at the Park Place Bar. Detectives said the shooting stemmed from a fight between some people who were leaving the bar as it was closing.

During the fight, police say someone fired a gun and a 28-year-old man was injured. Police say the victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Christiana Care Hospital. The victim is now in stable condition.

During their investigation into the shooting, Milford police detectives identified Trader as the suspect in the shooting and obtained warrants for his arrest. Maryland State Police took Trader into custody on Friday, May 24, and he was extradited to Milford four days later, where he was charged with the aforementioned offenses. He was then ordered held in default of $140,000 cash bond.

Milford Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
