Police: Man Stole Charity Donation Can From Store

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP/WBOC) - Police say a Middletown man has been charged with stealing a charity donation can from a supermarket.

Employees at the Food Lion in the Market Place Shopping Plaza in Middletown told police that a man grabbed the donation can for Children's Miracle Network on Tuesday morning and ran from the store.

Middletown Police Chief Henry Tobin said that officers identified the suspect as 29-year-old Quentin Watson and he was arrested Wednesday at his home. Tobin estimates Watson got about $50 in donations.

Watson was charged with one count of theft and is being held in the Howard Young Correctional Institution on $1,000 secured bail. He also was ordered to have no contact with the Middletown Food Lion.
