Dover Man Arrested for Bringing Heroin to School

FELTON, Del.- Felton police have arrested a Dover man accused of bringing heroin onto the premises of Lake Forest North Elementary School.

Police said that on Tuesday, officers were called to the school to deal with a person described as drunk and disorderly man. Officers said that when they arrived on the scene, they encountered 33-year-old Mark A. Martin being restrained by school personnel.

According to police, Martin had entered the school with another parent and proceeded to the bathroom where he was encountered by a student while smoking a cigarette. Martin was arrested and a subsequent search resulted in 9 grams of heroin being located in his front pocket, police said.

Martin was charged with possession of a controlled substance in Tier 1 quantity (heroin) and disorderly conduct. He was ordered held in lieu of $10,500 secured bail.
