3 Charged in Sussex County Counterfeit Merchandise Operation

LAUREL, Del.- An investigation into the sales of counterfeit items from a Laurel business has ended with three Maryland men facing charges, and the seizure of more than $100,000 in counterfeit merchandise.

Delaware State Police said the investigation concluded Friday, with the execution of a search warrant at the Source 1 Wireless business located at 11457 Commercial Lane in Laurel. As a result of the investigation and search warrant, police said Zarar Shauket, 28, of Delmar, Md., Eitezaz Shauket, 32, of Salisbury, Md., and Shane McAllister, 20, of Delmar, Md., were taken into custody inside of the business without incident.

According to police, more than 1,252 items, valued at more than $100,000, were found to be counterfeit and seized. Police said the merchandise seized consisted of brand named merchandise including Polo, Coach, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Reebok, Tory Birch, and NBA and NFL sports jerseys. Also discovered during the search, according to police, was 16 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Troopers also seized $1,468 in alleged cash proceeds from the business.

All three were charged with trademark counterfeiting and related offenses and released on unsecured bond.

Troopers continue to investigate this case.
