Smyrna Police Continue Search for Rape Suspect

SMYRNA, Del.- Smyrna police are continuing to ask the public's help in identifying a suspect accused of dragging a 14-year-old girl into a wooded area and raping her.

The incident, which was reported to police Thursday, occurred between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday. The victim told detectives that while walking in the wooded area behind the Buck Algonquin building, she was attacked from behind and dragged into the woods where she was raped. The girl is expected to be OK, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-20s, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot tall, short crew cut type dark, no facial hair and a tattoo of some type on one of his arms. The suspect was wearing jeans and a white T-shirt.
