Princess Anne Playground Fire Ruled Arson

PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Authorities are investigating as arson a Thursday evening fire that caused hundreds of dollars in damage to a playground in Princess Anne.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at a town-owned playground at 30660 Rosa Parks Avenue. Investigators said someone started a fire beneath a playground slide, causing approximately $500 in damage.

Princess Anne volunteer firefighters responded to the scene and quickly got the blaze under control. There were no reported injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has information relating to the fire is asked to call the Lower Eastern Region office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office at (410) 713-3780.
