CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Authorities are searching for the cause of an early Tuesday fire that caused thousands of dollars to a Cambridge home.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out shortly before 5 a.m. at a two story home located at 524 High St.

It took 30 firefighters from the Rescue (Cambridge) Fire Company approximately half an hour to get the two-alarm fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the structure and another $5,000 in damage to its contents. A smoke detector was present but did not operate, investigators said.

The fire's area of origin was determined to be an attached utility room but what sparked the blaze remains under investigation.
