City of Salisbury on Alert for Afternoon Storm

SALISBURY, Md.- City of Salisbury officials say they have made advance preparations in anticipation of this afternoon's storm, which is expected to bring with it very high winds.

Officials said storm preparedness measures include: 

  • The Department of Public Works is cleaning inlets and readying generators.
  • The wastewater treatment plant and water treatment plants will have additional operator coverage during the storm this evening.
  • Extra staff will be at the city yard to respond to downed trees.
  • The Department of Neighborhood Services has its fleet vehicles fueled and its damage assessment kits prepared.

Officials noted that Public Works is preparing for a storm that will likely have power outages due to the high winds.
