Suspect Sought in Dover Shooting

DOVER, Del.- Police are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Dover that left a 23-year-old man injured.

Dover police said that at around 1:15 a.m. Monday, the victim was standing on the corner of Water Street and New Castle Avenue with a group of friends when they were approached by an unknown male suspect. Police said the suspect pulled out a handgun and people ran. That is when, according to police, the victim heard a gunshot and was struck in the lower leg.

The victim was transported to Bayhealth Medical Center where he was treated for his injury and released.

According to investigators, the suspect was described as black, light complexion, 18-19 years of age and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
