CAROLINE COUNTY, Md.- Early Saturday night the Maryland Department of Natural Resources called off its search for a 32-year-old man who went missing in the Choptank River between Denton and Preston earlier in the day, according to the Preston Volunteer Fire Company.

DNR officials said the man is from Greensboro, Md.

The fire company said that the incident is controlled by DNR and that it is now a recovery effort.

The company also said that the only divers who entered the water on Saturday night were from the Mid Shore Dive team and Seaford Volunteer Fire Department.
