SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities are investigating a weekend fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a Salisbury home.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, at a one story home located on 419 Coles Circle.

It took 20 Salisbury firefighters approximately half an hour to get the fire under control, investigators said.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the structure and another $15,000 in damage to its contents.

A smoke detector was present and activated, investigators said.

The fire started in the rear exterior of the home, deputy state fire marshal's determined. However, how it started remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting the home's displaced occupants.
