GREENSBORO, N.C. Kyle Convissar, Jimmy Reed and Jake Stinnett of the University of Maryland baseball team have been selected to the 2013 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Baseball Team, the league announced Monday.

Convissar, a finance major, is a three-time selection and is one of four players on the team who has been selected more than twice. Reed, who was drafted in the sixth round of the Major League Baseball Draft on June 7, is a two-time honoree, while Stinnett, a rising senior, is a first-time selection.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Convissar ranked as one of the Terps' top hitters this past season. The Severna Park, Md., native ranked second on the team with a .325 batting average, the 17th-best average in the ACC, and drove in 37 runs, one shy of the team high.

Reed, who graduated with a degree in journalism, earned second team All-ACC honors while leading the Terrapin pitching staff in 2013. Reed posted a 6-4 record with a team-best 2.33 ERA, which ranked seventh in the ACC. Reed is one of six ACC pitchers to toss a shutout this past season in conference action and is one of five to throw two or more complete games.

An economics major, Stinnett started the season as the team's closer, but moved into the weekend rotation on March 17 against Florida State. The native of Vista, Calif., finished 6-5 with a 2.83 ERA and held opposing batters to a .204 average, which tied for the fourth-best average in the ACC.
