DOVER, Del.- Dover police have arrested a suspect accused of robbing the WSFS Bank at 290 S. DuPont Highway on Monday afternoon.

Voncel V. Tate, 27, of Dover, is charged with first-degree robbery and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

Police said Tate's arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. According to police, Tate entered the WSFS Bank with his head covered and wearing sunglasses. Investigators said Tate handed the teller a note, which indicated he had a bomb and demanded money. Tate was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then ran out of the bank, police said.

Police said that approximately 15 minutes after the robbery, detectives spotted Tate in the area of the IHOP restaurant on South Little Creek Road. He was taken into custody by responding patrol officers without incident.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Tate was ordered held in default of $27,500 cash only bond.
