HARRINGTON, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a Harrington man accused of raping a 22-year-old woman at gunpoint.

Jerome L. Hall, 53, is charged with first-degree rape, aggravated menacing, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall's arrest stemmed from an investigation that got under way shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Police said troopers were dispatched to a home on the 2200 block of Vernon Road, west of Harrington, after a 9-1-1 call was received about a woman who had been raped.

Troopers said that when they arrived on the home, they contacted the 22-year-old victim who claimed Hall had held a gun to her and forced her to perform sexual acts with him.  The victim was able to free herself after a struggle with Hall and flee to a home next door and report the incident, police said. She was transported by EMS to Milford Memorial Hospital where she police said she was given a medical examination.

Police said search warrant was obtained at the house and troopers and detectives were able to located a black BB gun, drug paraphernalia and a used condom.

Hall was taken into custody on the aforementioned charges and ordered held on $15,500 secured bond.
