NEWARK, Del.  -- Ten competitions, including four home contests, highlight the 2013-14 University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving schedules unveiled by head coach John Hayman Friday.

The Blue Hens will compete 10 times during the season, beginning with the annual Blue-White Intrasquad Scrimmage on Sept. 28 and culminating in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships which will be held for the first time at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.

Hayman welcomes the return of two strong units for the upcoming season. The Blue Hen men went 6-3 in dual meet competition a year ago and placed fourth at the CAA Championships while the UD women posted a dual mark of 8-3 and finished sixth at the conference meet.

Delaware will open the 2013-14 season with the Blue-White Intrasquad Scrimmage Sept. 28 at Rawstrom Natatorium and then open the regular season with a pair of non-league dual meets against Georgetown (Oct. 5) and George Mason (Oct. 19).

Dual meet competition will follow with the Hens travelling to Harrisonburg, Va. for the CAA Pod Meet against UNCW, William & Mary, and host James Madison Nov. 1-2 and making the short trip to Philadelphia for a tri-meet against Rider and host La Salle on Nov. 9.

The Blue Hens will compete at the Bucknell Invitational on Nov. 22-24 and several members of the squad will take part in the U.S. Swimming Short Course Nationals at the University of Tennessee on Dec. 5-7.

After taking a break for exams and the holiday, Delaware will return to action with a pair of CAA dual meets Jan. 11 at Towson and Jan. 19 at home for Senior Day vs. Drexel. After a six-week break, the Hens will conclude the season at the CAA Championships at Maryland, which will serve as host for the event for the first time. George Mason annually hosted the CAA event but is now a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
